About Ayurveda
Ayurveda is a fully holistic system of healing from India and dates back over five thousand years. Ayurveda integrates lifestyle practices, nutrition, yoga, pranayama, botanical medicine, gentle cleansing methods and many other physical and spiritual tools to support an individual's total wellness. The Sanskrit word Ayur-veda translates as the “Science of Life” and is based on the 5 elements of the cosmos. Using a system of doshas helps to bring the 5 elements into a contextual working language so you will know which tools to access for your unique being and constitution. What is unique about Ayurveda is that the multi folded healing tools can be very simple yet their healing effects can be wonderfully profound. Ayurvedic practices have a natural and deeply aesthetic expression through their ease of use and immediate positive effects. Thus practicing Ayurveda can be blissful and enjoyable.
